Eligibility for Fringe Benefits

Employees regularly employed in one position for nine (9) months per year and thirty (30) or more hours per week shall have the privilege of the following fringe benefits:

Full Flex Benefits* (includes health/dental)

Life Insurance

Long-Term Disability Insurance    

**Holidays

Employees regularly employed in one (1) position at least nine (9) months per year and twenty (20) to twenty-nine (29) hours per week shall have the privilege of the following fringe benefits:

One-half (1/2) Flex Benefits* (includes health/dental)

**Holidays

*Employees regularly employed in one (1) position for nine (9) months per year and less than twenty (20) hours per week shall NOT be eligible for any fringe benefits.

Employees working on a day-to-day casual basis shall be paid only for days or hours actually worked and shall not be eligible for any fringe benefits or holiday pay.

* FLEX BENEFITS PLAN - Employee contribution for the benefit of qualifying employees to be used to pay for the following benefits or expenses during the year:

  1. Health Care Reimbursement Plan

  2. Dependent Care Assistance Account

  3. Premium Expense Account

  1. Health care premiums under our insured group medical plan

  2. Group term life insurance premium

  3. Dental insurance premium

 

** Holidays for Food Service Employees- Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Good Friday, and Memorial Day.

EMPLOYEE BENEFIT SUMMARY

(Full Time Employees Only).

EMPLOYEE MEDICAL INSURANCE:

Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage

  • Three separate programs: Double Gold w/copay, Preferred Gold, CMM $500 deductible

  • Within each program; single, two-party or family

 

EMPLOYEE DENTAL INSURANCE:

  • Self funded w/district using approved school district dental provider

  • Option 1 is employee only - option 2 is single or family

For full time employees district contributes $325 per month toward health/dental costs of selected plan(s) (or as negotiated per contract agreement). Costs in excess of district contribution are taken as pre-tax payroll deductions.

 

LONG TERM DISABILITY (LTD):

  • Fully paid by district

  • Provides salary replacement equal to 90% of monthly earnings for first six (6) months and 75% thereafter.

  • Elimination Period- 65 consecutive working days or end of accumulated sick leave, whichever is greater; The elimination period is the period of time that you must be totally disabled and under the care of a licensed physician prior to. receiving benefits. Most employees utilize District-provided sick pay as their income during the elimination period.

 

SICK LEAVE:

  • One day per month up to 12 days per year

 

WORKMEN’S COMP:

  • Statutory requirements, fully paid by district.

 

LIFE INSURANCE:

  • Classified employees employed in one position for nine months arid 30 or more hours per week coverage for employee only - fully paid by district.

FLEX COMP BENEFITS (Section 125 Cafeteria Plan)

  • Pre-tax voluntary payroll deduction up to $5,000 for excess medical/dental.

  • Pre-tax voluntary payroll deduction up to $5,000 for Child Care costs.

 

OTHER LEAVES OF ABSENCE (Full Time Employees):

  • Funeral Leave - up to 5 days leave (NOT deducted from S.L.).

  • Essential Leave -. up to 3 days leave (SUPT. approval)

  • Military Leave - granted pursuant to applicable law

  • Unpaid Leave of Absence - up to 1 year without pay

  • Family Leave - up to 5 days with pay (if eligible)

  • Medical Leave - up to 1 year without pay

  • Jury Duty - granted pursuant to applicable law

Please refer to bargaining agreements for specifics.

 

TAX SHELTERED ANNUITY (TSA):

  • Voluntary payroll deduction up to maximum IRS allowance.

  • Unlimited choice of companies based on employee selection.

 

PAY PERIODS:

Bi-weekly pay every other Friday (26 total).

Optional 21 pay period.
