The School Lunch Pattern lunches are designed to provide foods that meet the nutritional needs of students in the K-l2 year age group. Younger children may require less and older children should be served larger portions to meet their nutritional needs.

Lunch contains foods from the basic food groups.

Regulations change as different ideas are brought up. We must follow the regulations as set by the federal government.

DIETARY GUIDELINES FOR AMERICANS

  • Eat a variety of foods

  • Maintain healthy weight

  • Choose a low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol

  • Choose a diet with plenty of vegetables, fruits, and grain products

  •  Use sugars only in moderation

  • Use salt and sodium only in moderation
