CURRENT BREAKFAST COMPONENT REQUIREMENTS

1     - 1/2 Pint of fluid milk

1     - 1/2 cup of fruit and/or vegetable

or full strength fruit or vegetable juice

and

2     - servings bread or bread alternate

or

2 servings of meat or meat alternate

or

1 serving of meat or meat alternate

1 serving of bread or bread alternate

We need parents, teacher, cooks and children working together as a team for healthy students.

Our Food Service staff prepares and serves the meals and also acts as a resource person for nutrition education in the classrooms, assisting teachers as requested. To be most effective we should promote good health by displaying posters and sharing nutrition information as we receive it at workshops and meetings. We can be good examples ourselves by eating wisely the foods our bodies need.
